Does anyone, who would be willing to do lookups, have access to the 1850 Indiana census book for Fayette County? I am searching for my ggf, who was apparently orphaned at an early age. Perhaps his sister - under age five in 1850 - would show up with her parents in the 1850 census. Surname is LAIR. Suspected parents are Joseph and Sara, Joseph and Elizabeth or John and Isabel.
Are there death records this early (1851-1860) for Fayette County?
Thanks to anyone who might help! Please e-mail be at trprb8@aol.com.

Hi:
Mike Shaver
This past week I was in Fayette Co. for part of a day. My goal was to find the Stevens Cemetery. This is an old abandoned cemetery that I had found information on a few years ago while at the Indiana State Library. I went to the Fayette County Library and got directions which were similar to what I already had. So I followed them. They said to drive to the village of Columbia. Then go one mile south and look toward a barn on the left and follow a fence row. Well, I did this, but was not sure which barn and which fence to follow and my guess would have taken me across private property and I could not find anyone to ask and it was drizzling. Also, the directions had been written in the 1950's, so I gave up. I was looking for the graves of Isaac HARRELL and his wife Delilah. Does anyone know of the old Stevens Cemetery (which is the correct name although there are not hardly any Stevens buried there)? I have a list of those who are supposed to be buried there that I can share. Isaac was a brother to my pioneer ancestor Chester Harrell.
I am researching WILEYS in this area and have found that there is a Wiley Chapel Cemetery in Fayette County in Jennings Twp/Harrison Twp, Sec 18, t14n r12e Rd, 150 N at 540 W, 7 miles NW of Connersville. I am wondering if anyone knows who is buried here!
I am searching for the MURRAY family of Connersville, Indiana in Fayette County. I have very little information. I am looking for John Murray, particularly. All I know about him is that he had at least 2 children - Ressie Isabelle and Grace. Ressie was born in Connersville, Indiana June 26, 1896. Ressie was my Maternal Grandmother. I believe she married a man by the name of Harry Gordon Friend in Connersville. I am desperate for any kind of information on all Murray's who were in connersville about 1896. I estimate Ressie and Harry Gordon Friend were married between 1916 and 1918. Please contact me if you have any kind of information at all, no matter how small. Thanks much. Helen in Dayton, Ohio
